Admissions Procedures
In the
admissions process, it is important for a prospective student and his/her family
to understand the mission and goals of Kenston Forest School; it is also
important for the Admissions Committee to meet the student and learn about
his/her academic and personal qualities. The admissions process is designed to
help prospective families and the school make a clear appraisal of one another
to determine whether an appropriate match exists between the two. The
admissions process includes the following:
Campus Visits
During
the admissions season, campus visits can be scheduled for 10:30 a.m. or 1:30
P.M.
on weekdays. Please call the Admissions Office to make a reservation for your
family.
Prospective Student Applications
The Prospective
Student Application Package
is part of the total application process that must be completed before an
admissions decision will be made. This process includes:
1.
Submission of a completed Application Form with $100 Application Fee
(non-refundable).
2.
Completion of Brigance readiness testing (grades K-3) or OLSAT abilities
testing (grades 4-12). These tests are administered in the Admissions Office.
3.
Completion of two Confidential Recommendation Forms.
4.
Completion of student essay questions (grades 8-12).
5.
Admissions Office receipt of transcripts, school records, standardized testing
results and report cards sent from the current school. Records for the current
year and the previous two years are required.
6.
Completion of interviews and visits as requested by the Admissions Director or
Lower School Director or Upper School Director.
