Athletics
Kenston Forest School participates in the Virginia
Commonwealth Conference (VCC) which is the governing body for varsity and junior
varsity volleyball, basketball, football, softball, baseball, golf, soccer and
cheerleading. Member schools include Amelia Academy, Blessed Sacrament
Huguenot, Brunswick Academy, Christchurch School, Fuqua School, Isle of Wight
Academy, Richmond Christian School, Southampton Academy, the Steward School, and
Tidewater Academy. Additional athletic competitions are held with
non-conference schools.
Eligibility
The VCC requires students taking six (6) subjects for
credit to pass five (5). Students who do not pass five of six subjects are
ineligible to play any sport for the next grading period until they improve
their academic standing. Students who transfer to Kenston Forest from a 4x4
block format must have passed all four subjects to be eligible to play the first
grading period.
In addition to VCC rules, Kenston Forest School further
requires its athletes on junior varsity and varsity teams to maintain a minimum
grade average of 77 (C-) for subjects taken within the prior grading period in
order to participate in a sport.
