College Counseling

It is the mission of Kenston Forest School to prepare each student for academic success beyond high school. We understand this success requires a commitment on the part of our Guidance Department to ensure students and their families have a complete understanding of the college admissions process.

Formal college counseling begins with Junior Night for parents and students in the fall of the students’ junior year. A “Nuts and Bolts of the Application Process” seminar is given by our Guidance Director in early fall of the senior year. The seminar is followed by a Senior College Night for seniors and their parents to discuss college admissions and financial aid.

The PSAT is administered to all students in grades 10 and 11as practice for the SAT.

Students are strongly encouraged to take the SAT and/or ACT at least once in the spring of the junior year and once in the fall of the senior year. Students may register for the tests online at collegeboard.org or ACT.
