Robotics Team

The KFS Robotics Team Sponsor is Mr. Jason Buchanan.  Mr. Jason Buchanan, is a faculty member at KFS and came to KFS this past year from Nottoway County Public Schools where he taught Technology.  He earned degrees from SVCC, ODU, and Virginia Tech.  Mr. Buchanan teaches the following classes at KFS:  Computer, Invention and Innovations, Technology of Robotic Design, Design Multi-media and Web Technologies, and Intro to Technology.  The Robotics Team supports STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education at KFS.  The Robotics program engages students in hands on activities in learning about science, technology, engineering and mathematics; and encourages important life skills like teamwork, communication, and project-based organization. 

The students on this team meet once a week throughout the school year working on their robots compete in the VEX IQ Robotics Competitions.  The team has done very well and have earned high rankings!
