  • Spanish Teacher (Blackstone, VA)

    Full Time.  Requires Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Spanish Education, Spanish, or a related degree. 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Teacher at the High School or Middle School level. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English is required. Must have or be eligible for a teacher license from the Virginia Board of Education. Teach all basic and advanced Spanish courses (Intro to Spanish, Spanish I to IV) to high school students. Plan, prepare and provide instruction in speaking, reading, writing and understanding the Spanish language, as well as lessons in Spanish literature and culture. Develop instructional goals to design and deliver instruction based on State foreign language standards of learning and world language curriculum content. Integrate Spanish language instruction and materials with other disciplines, including student-centered and project-based activities as well as authentic resources and relevant technology.

  • Upper School English Teacher


    We are searching for a dedicated and experienced English teacher to join our Upper School team. To ensure success as an English teacher, you should possess a thorough understanding of effective teaching practices. Ultimately, an outstanding English teacher at Kenston Forest should engage students in meaningful and engaging activities, creating an environment conducive to learning.

    English Teacher Responsibilities:
    Teach basic English skills including reading, writing, and speaking.
    Execute lessons efficiently using different styles of teaching depending on the content.
    Engage students to ensure a lively classroom atmosphere.
    Instruct students about the structure and content of the English language.
    Teach students the spelling of words, and their meanings.
    Emphasize the rules of composition, grammar and sentence construction.
    Teach students to think critically when studying literature and poetry.

    English Teacher Requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree in English and/or education with a specialization in English.
    Minimum of 3 years experience in a teaching role.
    Organized, flexible disposition.
    Ability to compile lesson plans efficiently and execute lessons with meaning, in a fun, and engaging manner.
    Computer Skills.
    Outstanding interpersonal skills. 

  • Upper School Math Teacher

    We are searching for a dedicated and experienced math teacher to join our Upper School team. As a math team member, you will be required to deliver lessons that develop students’ theoretical and applied mathematical skills. You will also be responsible for assigning homework, grading assignments/assessments, and documenting student progress.

    To be successful as a math teacher, you should possess a thorough understanding of effective teaching practices.

    Math Teacher Responsibilities:
    Planning and presenting lessons to facilitate students’ understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
    Preparing and distributing learning materials such as notes, assignments, and a variety of assessments.
    Sourcing the resources and supplies needed for lessons.
    Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning.
    Grading assignments and assessments in a timely manner.
    Documenting and reporting on students’ progress.
    Attending all meetings with parents as needed and staff as required.

    Math Teacher Requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree in education with a specialization in mathematics, or equivalent content credit hours.
    Proven experience as a Math Teacher, this is preferred.
    A thorough understanding of best practices in teaching high school students.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Organized, flexible disposition.
    Outstanding interpersonal skills.

  • Lower School Music Teacher

    We are currently seeking a music teacher for our students in Kindergarten through Grade 7. This role involves designing engaging lessons, introducing fundamental musical concepts, and fostering a positive environment that encourages students to explore and express themselves through music.

    As a faith based school, the person in this position is responsible for integrating Biblical teachings into the music curriculum and directing signature musical programs throughout the school year.
