Kenston Forest School Sophomore, Juniela Perez, participated in the Poetry Out Loud contest on March 10, 2017 at the WCVE Public Broadcasting Studio in Richmond, Virginia. Poetry Out Loud is sponsored by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and Poetry Foundation. Out of 9,000 students across the state of Virginia, Juniela was one of twelve chosen to compete and recite two poems in the state finals. Mrs. Susan Lenhart, KFS Dual Enrollment English Instructor, accompanied Juniela to Richmond. Juniela represented KFS and Region 2 of Virginia and is the daughter of Deirdre Ramirez of Kenbridge, Virginia.
