We are busy at KFS getting ready for a new, exciting school year to begin! As your family prepares for this new year, we wanted to remind you about Virginia’s Tax Free Weekend which is coming up this weekend, August 7-9.
That means that during the sales tax holiday period, consumers can purchase QUALIFYING school supplies, clothing, footwear, hurricane and emergency preparedness items, and Energy Star and WaterSense products without paying sales tax. This includes qualifying items purchased online, by mail, or over the phone.
Look for an e-mail in your in-box from the appropriate Director (Lower and/or Upper School) which will include more detailed information about the dress code requirements for our students in the upcoming year.
Please remember our Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18th, from 3 until 5:00 p.m. with 6th Grade and New Student specific orientations at 5:00 in the library. From there, we will travel over to the gym for a covered dish supper at 5:30 and a meeting for ALL ATHLETES and their parents with our Athletic Director, Bart Bellairs, and our coaching staff immediately following dinner. As you can see, this is sure to be a fun and informative evening. Please plan to be with us on the 18th!
